Stella would like to start by saying "Happy New Year Friends". This year Stella will be turning 4 years old which she says will be great because 4 is the new 20's and the 20's are nothing but a party! Because she has no thumbs she cant type this blog.....so, she asked me to blog a few things in regards to her New Year's Resolution. Being Stellaluna's pet, I had a few suggestions. 1) No more barking at the kids on the porch 2)Chill out on the licking problem. Stella did not approve of my suggestions at all. She told me that kids on the porch have bikes and bikes have wheels which are of the devil. "Oh" i responded, sarcasticly "how horrible is it that wheels spin around and round, that must be really troubling Bean!" (Bean, is one of her nicknames that she responds to very well i might add) She then explained the issue of the wheels themselves being circular and how circles can not ever rest. She said even when they look like they are going to be still they can also move and for this reason wheels can never be trusted. As far as the licking goes she told me that she could not live without the texture of cool skin on her tongue or the fabric of the couch or your jeans. It does something to her she can't explain. I didn't want to push the envelope with this one so i just dropped it. So, what are her New Year's resolution' you ask? Well, first she would like to stop "waving" at other dogs while on walkies. When Stella was a baby she learned to wave to dogs and their pets. Stella knows that it has gotten out of hand because when she waves she is standing on her hind legs and barking, in addition, her eyes are "buggin". The problem is that although Stella just wants to play with the dogs and their pets , they think she is trying to attack them. I know she is vicious right?! It's a rough reality but she says she needs to be more approachable so she can have more friends. For now on in Twenty Ten Stella will try her hardest to sit and wait so that she may sniff butts and have further friendly conversations with her kind. Her second resolution is to stop her desperate yelping while in her car seat because she knows it is distracting to me. She says it's hard not too yelp because the front seat is so much more interesting because she likes the view above the steering wheel lot's more. I explained to her it's simply not safe because of the airbag and it also makes it harder for me to drive safely. She promises to sit in her car seat quietly like a good girl but only for the exchange of a nice "bully stick" to chew on while on a drive. I accept the request and agree to give her this tasty treat while in her seat. Lastly, i have one resolution that involves Stella and my joint effort. As Stella's pet i commit to brush her teeth 3 days a week to help her have a healthy smile and good dog breath. We are hoping by keeping good oral hygiene she will avoid a cleaning and dental work for years to come. In conclusion Stella promises to be the crazy "wolf man's baby" that she is and the fastest runner at the dog park. She promises to first "flirt" with and then eat every carrot she is given and beg for apples anytime a human is eating one. Sitting on the couch on her butt with perfect posture will also be a daily practice as well as barking at anyone that walks by the house to let us know people are near our den. Furthermore, she would like anyone that is a "Stella fan" to come on over and hang out anytime but, Alfredo is her favorite boyfreind. Happy new year to all of our peeps!
Love, Jules and Stella
